511 The longest of all Stanley planes: 30" jointer No 34. Comes with a SW Can 8 cutter and chip breaker. If you want to use the plane you'll have to put a second slot higher up in the chip breaker. Hardware store brass medallion on the back is a nice extra feature . Good wood throughout.  $ 450

509 Goodell Pratt 1515 hand drill with rosewood storage handle. The lid is split and seemingly stuck, I didn't want to force it open. 1920-1938. The miniature breast drill is a little gem marked DRGM, which is the German utility and design patent marking used between 1871-1945, the third is a 10" Goodell Pratt No 110 1907-1935.  $ 90

508 The very last lot of 18 sadly neglected but hopefully salvageable (paring) chisels and gouges from Terry's shed. Ranging from 8 to 4 1/2" length without handles.  $ 130

507 Pocket sextant marked Troughton & Simms Ltd - which dates it between 1915 - 1922.  There is a crack in the magnifying glass and the little eye-piece (optical scope?) is stuck i.e. it's supposed to pop out when you unscrew the lid. I therefore do not force the cover all the way down. Should be fairly easy to open up the unit and fix the problem. $ 150

500 Lot of shipwrights / sail maker's tools including two fids, caulking mallet, rigger's knife, sail makers palms and a scarce Millers Falls wimple brace, reportedly favoured by American shipwrights. The rare all metal pliers-palm was made by Dixon, predominantly as a saddler's tool. Originally it had a second handle that turned it into flat nosed pliers - the thick handle being the palm to push the needle and the jaw end to pull it.    $ 250

489 Stanley 27 transitional jack plane. Well used with scratches to sole. Handle has a tight hairline crack. $ 70

488 Just when you think you've seen it all.... this one has me baffled. At first glance I thought it was a custom made job and somebody had inserted the Marples logo from another tool. On second thoughts, this is obviously a professionally made casting. Your guess is as good as mine as to the function of this plane. It has a relatively fine mouth and rebate plane type escapements and a weird rebate cutter and a heavy duty clamp.  I first thought it might be a shoot board plane but the rabbet features don't quite fit that function. Obviously a special plane made for a specific purpose - similar to printers or shoe makers planes. It would be interesting to know what it was for and if it was featured in one of the Marples catalogues.  10 3/4" long with a 2 3/8" cutter. Cast iron body with wood infill frog and front bun, covered with a steel plate. $ 150

487 Stanley 104 Liberty Bell in okay working order to restore or for parts. $ 70

486 Stanley 104 Liberty Bell with a hard plastic red Stanley replacement handle (actually a very good fit!) Definitely worth cleaning.  $ 90

485 Pre-lateral Stanley 4 with Pat 92 cutter. Original rosewood. Handle has a tight crack. Bed and frog had a re-paint sometime in the past. There are some pitting marks on both sides.    $ 120

484 Bedrock 604 with later cutter. I cleaned the outside, bed needs some work. The lateral adjuster is loose and comes off - needs to be pinned in. Worth buying just for the rosewood and the lever cap.  $ 100

483 Very good Stanley 4 low knob with 3 patents to 1910 and correct V logo cutter. $ 120

482 Stanley 171 door trim router. Body is great, rest not so good. Two welds on fence, one of the rods is obviously sourced from something else but fits okay.  $ 150

481 Stanley 57 core box plane with one set of extensions with original rods and turnbuckle. The front knob might be a very good replacement. Comes on a wooden display stand.  $ 500

480 Cooper's jigger/drawing knife by Greaves. 16" long with a 2 3/4" cutter. $ 120

476 Stanley 45 floral pattern combination plane with a full (later) set of 23 cutters -the nicker is in the plane- in a custom made wooden stand that also holds the short rods. Plane lacks beading gauge and one nicker (which I will source from another plane). There are two custom added holes in the wooden fence liner and the handle is a replacement.  Should clean to at least G.  $ 150

475 Great set of wheelwrights tools with all three types of hollow augers; a large and very early reamer type auger; a custom made jarvis (rounder); an early wedge type adjustable wrench and the father of all spokeshaves measuring an amazing 20 1/2".    $ 450

463 Very good Mathieson No 11 sash filletster with boxwood screw stems and nuts. Hairline crack in one outer nut. The inner nuts both have hairline crack and one is damaged, but this is a hard to get plane that could easily be made fine.  $ 180

462 Mathieson No 7B screw stem plough plane with very good boxwood stems and nuts, free of chips or cracks. $ 140

461 Varville beech screw stem plough plane with boxwood stems and nuts free of chips or cracks.  $ 90

453 French cobblers hammer with a  7 1/2" head.  $ 50

452 This is by far the rarest little gem of a hammer I've come across. Markings on top most probably say 'Warranted (Cast) Steel', which would make it English. I believe it's a different version of lot 451 i.e. another saw (teeth) setting hammer. Like lot 451, the two sides are not symmetrical and the diagonal peen is wider than the others and sticks out 5/8". Fitted with a 9" old style hickory handle. The head is 4 1/2" long. I think it's priceless but you can make it yours for   $ 150

451 I believe this is a rare small saw setting hammer - No maker's marks. I found it in a second lot of Japanese tools that will come up for sale later. 10" long, 5" head. You'll notice that the straight peen side is longer than the cross peen head.  $ 50
