butt marking gauge. Made in USA; label on box sais made in Canada.

The rarest of them all: Wiesener 3 3/4"/ 400 grams
brass with steel tip and internal reel. I remember searching in vain
for patent 6247 25 years ago. These days half an hour on Google
cracked it. The real patent for this plumb bob was lodged in England
in September 3, 1907 by W.G.Wiesener and granted as Australian
Patent 12064 in 1908. This plumb bob almost certainly was sold by
T.F.Wiesener, Sydney, at the time a major supplier of scientific
instruments. I know of only one other example in the Dogan Basak
collection. That one is boxed and looks a lot more refined. Given
the 'fake' patent number and the somewhat crude stamping on this
plumb bob, I believe it would have been made to specification before
the actual patent was granted. |

Stanley Fuller calculator in original box. Good and
complete examples command very high prices, this is not one of them.
Both ends suffered some damage, the brass bracket that holds the
calculator does not fit into the top slot and there is wear and tear
on the cylinders. Still, these are great display pieces with that
air of sophisticated mathematical genius you needed before everybody
acquired it for free with an electronic calculator. $ 200 |

Improved Wire Measuring
Machine - my three-legged cast iron mate is back! I bought and sold
this many years ago, shipping from USA was a killer and managed to

impressive looking device. 12" tall and very heavy. $ 180
