Stanley 203 block plane
offered 1912 - 1961
5 1/2" long with a 1 3/8" cutter
Black japanned with a rosewood knob. Attractive little
block plane, same size as a Stanley 1, smaller than all the block planes
of similar build. This plane reportedly was designed as school or tech
school block plane for manual training but it was advertised as a handy
little plane for small jobs.
Early models have a lever cap with a larger "hood" and
an ornate depth adjuster screw with the Stanley name on it.
