He sold his business with the Yeagertown workshop to Collins in 1923 - which probably relates to the engravings on this axe. We could not find an index card  so I don't know if Steve had any additional information. This little axe might have a great tale to tell... 3 x 13 1/2"

By a funny coincident there is one for sale on eBay from a guy in my small town who used to run the Shell depot. He found the hatchet when he took over the business in the 50s. He is not sure if they were given to the stores or had to be purchased separately. Obviously this one has been cleaned at some stage. 3 x 12 1/2"
