English shipwrights axe masting/ blocking axe stamped
K&T? Unston. I could find no information on this maker. The stamping is

Unstone town or the Unstone Mills edge tool works. (all near Sheffield)

Impressive French Doloire broad axe / hewing axe with old
handle including worm holes. Steve was lucky to get this one through
customs/quarantine without fumigation. I believe the stamping reads
Thibeau, Libourne which would put this axe right into the centre of
the Northern Gironde wine making region and most probably in the hands
of a cooper but these aptly named 'shoulder of mutton' axes were used by
many other trades and even weapons going back to the Middle Ages. 6"
